Baton Rouge

My time in Baton Rouge happened to pass smooth
Thanks to a city-minded somebody who's eyes soothed
Energy was mutual as she was absorbed by the accent
As an accent to the city, it's clear what she represents
I said, "Show me the city"; jokingly, she said I'll get tolled
No time to see it in whole, but fish is a goal
It's good for the heart and that's music to my organ
She accepted and it was like I hit a fortune
We bent a right on Citiplace and hit the Fiery Crab
Conversation was goal-oriented; food was entirely fab
Learned more of Red Stick City as Ms. Witty fit the label
A welcoming feeling suddenly hit me at the table
She took me to the Mississippi and the sight was vicious
I said to myself, "When I leave, I'll miss this
It's a shame I was there with my time type scarce
Baton Rouge lifted my spirit like I climbed it up the stairs
