Charlotte

If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
Thought I had some downtime in Charlotte; it was the opposite
Opportunity came late in the day; I had to hop on it
Not much time, so for those hours I had to allocate
A true ambassador to the city was there to navigate
Latin food's on the agenda and Davidson's the resource
My partner in crime knows this city; she's the chief source
She said, "That's the college where Steph became a robot."
I replied, "I do my research; you can call me a knowbot."
Feet tweaked with Timbs; no secret where I'm from
Food's devoured as we left not even one crumb
Sweet tooth is kicking in and she showed no conflict
Cheesecake Factory has the chauffeur getting closer on shifts
Queen City accepted me with the most open arms
Lit skyline; warm people is where this city derives its charm
Unarguably, Charlotte's its own gem and in its own league
Came here to rest, but instead, I left with fatigue
