Poetry by Marckie-Rhyming Free Verse Poetry-Landscape Phone
If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
A week in this city has my energy complete
You see shells on my toes; same sneaks on Run-D.M.C.'s feet
Spotted 2 Broke Girl look-alikes while walking on South Beach
Beelined to them knowing they will not foul me

One of them's from Tampa, so I called her Tampa Bae
The other is a native and represented in each and every way
We sorted things out like an apple factory in Washington
I'm no fictitious persona, so they took me out to Washington

Homegirl from Miami looked pressed like a Cuban
She confided in me while Tampa Bae ate a Reuben
If indeed he cheated, that's your cue to be more liberal
The truth will set you free, but it'll first make you miserable

We closed our time with a walk on Ocean Drive
That's where I discovered where their emotions lie
No denying what was hoped for by this pair
Fruits are in my diet, so I took a bite out the pear
