The Abortion

Synopsis: This writing is about how a guy was affected by the abortion of his unborn child. His girlfriend wasn't the only one who had to manage through it.
"Do you want to keep it?", she asked following conception
An obvious miscalculation regarding her contraception
"It's your body, your decision." That was my perception
Your potential mom had goals and didn't want any interceptions
I went with her decision, but my sadness grew chronic
Me being the younger one, her choice to abort was ironic
Before we went to the clinic, I developed an attachment
Only option was to gain control through mental detachment
The commute to cancel you, in itself, was an ordeal
How can I use this pain for good, like, for real?
It was like a movie what I seen; a bigger burden
A memory never to be forgotten; that's for certain
If you were a boy, we were like Jackie; robbin son
As we left the office, I was silently the sobbing one
My performance at this stage in life; stronger to the core
Just know if you were here, you'd have been adored
