Poetry by Marckie-Rhyming Free Verse Poetry-Landscape Phone
If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
Synopsis: Grudges do nothing but destroy the family dynamic and increase the level of dysfunction. Some of us can do better than that.
Your grudges seriously degrade our ability
to build each other up; how about you show some humility
We both do wrong, but I know it's fun being a victim
It's eating you inside out like soda does; switch to Lipton

It may be a generational curse, so let's change the system
Is that too hard? Maybe it's easier for you to diss him
No need to stay mad so long as that invites disease
I know my perception; the question is, what to you believe?

There's got to be a greater way than holding a grudge
Remember something...you never went to school to be a judge
Last time I checked, that was a job for the Higher Upper
Now let's be proper and discuss this over supper

You can keep on with it and let the relationship go to pieces
But I'd rather it be sweet like a bag of Reese's
Trying to fix this got me running out of breath
Sooner or later, I won't have any energy left
