Poetry by Marckie-Rhyming Free Verse Poetry-Landscape Phone
If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
Synopsis: Marckie discusses his mother's greatest fear as she nears her departure from the physical. He then puts that fear to rest.
Your main fear; how would your kids fare when you left
This flow's only goal is to put that fear to rest
So, the ink bleeds to remind you of the job you've done
Mom, you are an absolute one of one

Diana rocked with you since, like, before all of us
Strength in her spirit allows her to evenly adjust
She's the rock now due to her motherly instinct
You birthed a daughter we find quite distinct

I wouldn't be surprised if one day Izzy hit it big
Gig after gig after gig; math tells me he's prone to wig
Fate has it that him and I reconnected over your disease
Rest, please; you're youngest son's disciplined like the Japanese

With class like Talisa, there's no telling how high she'll go
And Desi? Make no mistake...she'll rep you thorough
All your two youngest daughters have to do is smile to glow
All you have to do is look below and enjoy the show

Your two grandkids carry on fulfilling your wishes
You moved on for them to carry on; that's what this is
They'll see the silver lining intertwining in my steps of life
Their findings turn on their high beams which ends the strife

You know me; I'm Marc to you, but the moniker is Marckie
More aggressive than a shark; I'm targeting the shark meat
You raised me to succeed, so failure remains remote
Men lie...women lie...but the numbers simply don't

All I see in us five is continued personal growth
A work ethic unmatched; for that, let's raise a toast
(apple cider, that is...lol!)
Ethic is genetic; you were engrossed in survival since diagnosed
Since Mill Brook projects, you did the most
