Synopsis: The validity of a scapegoat can be tested by getting rid of the scapegoat. If the same problems exist after that, then the scapegoat was never the cause.
There's something in the air and I'm well aware of my history
Fingers being pointed at me has become something of a mystery
"Lil ole me" can't be the cause of all this misery
Truth shall come to light; let it shine like the glitter be

It's time for me to leave, in fact, disappear with speed
Now away from the problems; how's it feel to be freed?
I'm traveling the country as you remain at home
The news I wound up hearing had my mind blown

From a distance, it was clear what I was observing
Kind of sounds like you're a bit self-serving
Coming up on 3 years removed from your family dynamic
And your same problems exist; I find that quite tragic

So, if I haven't been there, how come you have the same issues?
Who would you blame now? Where would you aim those missiles?
Was I the reason for all of the family's flaws?
And the survey says...Marckie was never the cause
