I behaved in a way detrimental to our being
What you wanted was beyond me seeing
I prefer to be held accountable for thinking only physical
Maybe it was the age difference, but you stood and that's a miracle
Your plans for us were all about forward motion
But I stood stagnant not understanding your commotion
You loved me hard and I saw it in your actions
Silly me to always search for a higher satisfaction
It could have been simple for me to make you happy
Instead, I pushed you to the point of wanting to slap me
With a lack of emotion, I viewed you like a trophy girl
And with no decisiveness, your head went for a swirl
Had I been emotionally available to our connection
Our bond could have been rock solid and served as our protection
Next time I'm in that space, the two things that would change
Are a higher level of empathy and increased communications range
