Too Hard On Myself

Synopsis: This poem is about what a man goes through when he forms the habit of being too hard on himself. Also, it shows the liberation from breaking free from this bad habit.
Whatever it is I'm doing to myself, it's not mentally healthy
There's nothing no one can say, nothing they can tell me
Every move I make equates and translates to a mistake
Negating all my positives and living a life opaque
Like Pogo, I met the enemy and he is Marckie
It's troubling trying to make decisions that are key
But Patrick Morley helped with seeing the main in the mirror
Little by little, things began to get more clearer
With a Saint Catherine attitude, I study on how not to worry
Mistakes are alright; no need to live life in a hurry
As long as the eraser outlasts the lead in the pencil
I can keep living up to and eclipsing my potential
Tyranny of illusion; things are now radiant and self is illuminated
Stewardship mind; directing talents in a spirit that's fumigated
I now live in the present moment; I took an oath
Asking for problems like a Buddhist; opportunities for growth
