If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
Synopsis: The divorced or single dad has an equally important job as the single mom. He who is in that situation should feel just as needed.
Kids now live with their mom; you're full of anguish
That knife punctured your heart; life is not painless
As a dad, you're a man of steel; intentions are stainless
Therefore, there's no reason to walk around like you're nameless

They're going to need you like they need their mama
So, keep your money right and steer clear of drama
That way, when you have them, it'll set the stage
for fresh new memories; now you're worthy of praise

If you make a parenting mistake, it's best to show remorse
The kids understand you're human and fatherhood can keep course
Remember you're one of one and there exists no clone
But that space gets earned, or your connection gets blown

When you're not with them, there's no need to be depressed
Continue building your legacy and they'll naturally be impressed
Then the time will come when you can happily reflect
on all the love collected and the earned respect
