Poetry by Marckie-Rhyming Free Verse Poetry-Landscape Phone
If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
You hit that shot against Georgetown and your career took flight
Portland took Bowie, so now the Bulls future looked bright
When you hurt your foot, some thought your value burned
But they didn't know what you had in store once you returned

You began to set fire to the league, steady raising the bar
And made yourself right at home as Chicago's new star
Little by little you inched the Bulls to their first ring
The second was on it's way; that was a sure thing

As a Knicks fan, I have to bring up John Starks
He was no match for the fire in your heart of hearts
Kids all over the world tried to emulate your moves
While you played every game as if you have something to prove

Six rings later, you're now a walking monument
No one compares; that's basketball common sense
Your legacy stays put for the league and for the sport
We thank you for everything you showed us on the court
