I was running through Knoxville when I first heard Victory Lap
How you didn't win the Grammy? There's a mystery to that
Zoned out to the album; steadily smoking to that joint
Head of the game; it wouldn't be long before they appoint
You were Crenshaw-minded giving jobs to your community
Trying to reverse the poverty and create more opportunity
A pure soul; I paid attention to your clear intentions
You took care of your people while going against convention
March 31st, 2019, we mourned at about close to 4
Your kids, Lauren, and entire family; the tears poured
What for? Jealousy, hatred, and toxic feelings of such
The legacy you left will undoubtedly remain untouched
A greater man than most makes your loss far from bearable
The damage caused to many is simply not repairable
Even though your departure being odd can never even
Your supporters know; it'll always be Marathon season
