Synopsis: 17 people were killed in the Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, including students and staff. On that same day, 17 angels were born.
Tragedy at Marjory; it's black and white with one aspect
17 souls rose to the Heavens through purchased caskets
Kids departed; all that love moms and dads have kept
And all the sorrow the perished staff's families have spent

Gun control and school security; something this country can't defy
How many times must parents cry to the sky asking "Why?"
If our kids aren't safe in schools, who can we entrust?
I ask in disgust when will this topic be genuinely discussed?

Love to the ones who took this catastrophe and grew a skill
The will yall exercise to make a change gives me the chills
Yall next...the world is yours; wassup to X
Your focused and directed energy is causing positive ripple effects

The principle is: imagine the terror that these pupils see
They thought they would be saved by the bell; tires screech
A failed social study; who'll teach him or counsel her
We're in a lower class when the counselor needs a counselor
