Synopsis: An accidental suicide of a high school friend is the topic of this poem. A bright and beautiful soul lost, but not forgotten.
You were one of the bright stars at UHS
Then, you were gone; it's like, now you may rest
The level of respect I had for you was quick to appear
I only got to know you for like a year
Thinking about it and taking that time into account
Got me thinking how many you've helped a great amount
With a vibrant personality and smile that was infectious
Many couldn't understand that moment; it perplexed us
I was told you were scratching your ear; off went the trigger
None of us could believe it; we all got sicker
Walking the school halls with faces displayed with decay
Teachers were trying to teach class, but were in dismay
Some feelings were annihilated as they began to isolate
Wishing they could take that day and return to a prior date
Even though we lost you when you were a mere adolescent
We carry your spirit and smile as a present-day present
