More In Common

Synopsis: A heartfelt writing directed to a big sister. Through thick and thin, the bond continues to get stronger.
Back when I was running Contra on the NES
You were facing life and some of its biggest tests
Still, when you were around, you were a sister devout
Any absence had this Mr. missing you throughout
The school of hard knocks is an accelerated curriculum
You against the world; it's you I'd put a million on
There were times when I, your brother, acted unfair
For some odd reason, you still decided to spare
Going forward, going against you is something I refuse
Any escalation will be followed by my temptation to diffuse
Remember when I mentioned the poems; you weren't stirred
Your response: "Make sure you fuck up those words"
More in common, like, we look deeper than the outer layer
NYC state of mind; for the Bronx you are a purveyor
Seeing it from the inside, similar to Gordon Gekko
You keep it authentic; it's been like that since the get-go
