Synopsis: When everything seems right, something may just be wrong. Only time can reveal that, especially in relationships.
From the start, it was hard to break her apart
She was smart with the flirting and her face was art
Somehow, we connected so I rode the wave
Can't believe the selfishness after all I gave
It's like I was expected to do everything which includes
Cleaning the house, laundry, and dealing with her attitude
Add to that 70 hours a week to clear the overhead
She went to work, too, but she got to keep her bread
Maybe it's her parents' fault she was never domesticated
Nevertheless, that stress let to me getting self-medicated
She had a skill for Candy Crush and doom-scrolling Facebook
Going out and spending money is where she'd stay hooked
The silver lining to this truth is I learned more of Marckie
Backbone's grown and the lesson is permanent like a Sharpie
In relationships it takes an effort that is reciprocal
That's the way to grow a love that's above typical
