Poetry by Marckie-Rhyming Free Verse Poetry-Landscape Phone
If you're reading on your phone, hold it in the landscape position to maintain the format of the poem.
Synopsis: While social media has its many positives, this writing is about the negative it has caused. The narcissism, hypocrisy, and tragedy come to light.
Narcissistic selfies on IG got people obsessed
Doom-scrolling on the Facebook got the depressed possessed
These posts aren't cute; all I see is a mental mess
People got dumber; when will it be addressed?

We got people talking tough; they part of keystroke nation
If you're that bold, say it to the face, then
It's easy for you to bully someone through a screen
Until they blow their head off; now yourself you'll never redeem

All these dinner pictures, as if people care what's on your plate
I'm concerned with my shit; why would I care what you ate?
Simpletons are posting pics of fancy cars and lavish trips to death
You'll impress me when you post about embarrassment or debt

Kids are hurting the most and there's no one there to protect
The new name for social media has become "reverse intellect"
Funny what people do to get some "likes" or gain some "friends"
Almost like The Expendables, only this is called "The Pretends"
